Record Activity appears when the Enhanced Record Auditability feature is enabled. If you do not see the history icon, contact your Swimlane administrator. You also need Restrict History permission on the record. The control does not appear on a new unsaved record, on a revision preview, or on a Performance Application.
Open Record Activity
- Open the application and select a saved record.
- On the record toolbar, select the history icon. The tooltip is Record Activity.
- Review the Record Activity panel. The title is Record Activity, followed by the record name.
The list is paged. Use the page controls at the bottom to move through rows. The footer includes the total count. If the selected dates have no activity, the panel shows No data to display.
You do not add Record Activity in Application Builder. It is not a layout field.
Workflow Run History remains on the record menu. Use that path for the workflow run timeline. Use Record Activity for the unified change feed. The History layout field can still sit on the form. See Workflow Run Historyο»Ώ and Historyο»Ώ.
Read an Activity Row
Each row shows the source of the change, the name of the actor when Turbine has one, the local date and time, and extra detail for that change. Source labels use color so you can scan the list: Playbook is green, User is blue, Widget is gray, and Component is magenta.
Successful workflow runs nest under the activity that caused them. Workflow is not a separate filter on the list.
What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
User, Playbook, Widget, Component, or Hero AI | The type of change. The name beside the type is the user, widget, playbook, component, or Hero AI actor. |
Playbook or component name | A playbook row can show the solution name and the flow name. Select the open icon to open that playbook or component in a new tab. If it was deleted, the row shows DELETED PLAYBOOK or DELETED COMPONENT. |
View Run | Shown when the change has a playbook or component run. Run details stay available for 14 days. After that, View Run is unavailable and the tooltip is Run history is only available for 14 days. |
Modified using Bulk Update | The row is a user change that came from a bulk update. |
Initiated by | The row is a widget change. The text names the widget. |
Triggered by | The row is a playbook change. The text names the trigger (for example, a webhook, schedule, playbook button, or record event). |
Workflow executed | Opens the workflow run in a new browser tab. |
Revisions include field changes that were stored for that save, including restricted-record access changes when those updates are part of the revision.
Review a Revision
- Locate the activity row.
- Select the row, or open the vertical ellipsis menu and select View Diff, to compare that revision with the previous one.
- Open the vertical ellipsis menu and select Preview Record to open the record values for that revision.
View Diff is not listed for the first revision. The dialog title is the record tracking ID. The subtitle is Revision # plus the revision number and Differences. Select Close to return to the list.
- For the first revision, Turbine shows No differences found and This is the original version of the record, so there is no previous revision to compare.
- When the revision has no field-level changes, Turbine shows No differences found and This revision has no field-level changes compared with the previous version.
Filter Record Activity by Date
The date filter at the top of Record Activity opens on Today.
- Select the date filter.
- Select a preset, or select Custom range and set a start and end date.
- Apply the range.
