symbol and only apply to sections that allow numeric entries date, time, and date and time filters this sections explains how to configure and use date and time filters in the ui the filters work across three types of fields date – filters by calendar date only (example 2025 05 09 ) time – filters by time of day only (example 14 30 00 ) date & time – filters by full timestamp (example 2025 05 09 14 30 00 ) operator behavior by field type ui input types note for the previous and next operators, some units like days or weeks may include the current day in date filters this behavior may not strictly reflect a full 24/48/72 hour window we are actively working to improve this consistency example use cases 72 hours april 21, 3 01 pm – april 24, 3 01 pm | previous shows records with dates and times earlier than the current time the value entered with this operator determines the range—such as 2 minutes, 1 day, or 7 months—before the current time the behavior of this operator is calendar aligned , meaning the selected unit (minute, hour, day, week, month) determines how the start and end boundaries are calculated minute based values behave differently from hour/day/week/month values examples previous 3 days retrieves records from the previous three fully completed calendar days if today is april 24, 2025, at 3 01 pm — records from april 21, 2025, at 12 00 am through april 23, 2025, at 11 59 pm time fields ignore the date, returning all valid times date fields return full calendar days date and time fields align to full calendar day boundaries previous 72 hours retrieves records from the previous 72 completed hour boundaries if today is april 24, 2025, at 3 00 pm — records from april 21, 2025, at 3 00 pm through april 24, 2025, at 2 59 pm hour based units align to calendar hour boundaries and exclude the current hour in progress previous 1 week retrieves records from the last fully completed calendar week if today is thursday, april 24, 2025 — records from sunday, april 13 through saturday, april 19, 2025 previous 1 month retrieves records from the last fully completed calendar month if today is april 24, 2025 — records from march 1 through march 31, 2025 next returns records that occur from now forward, based on the selected unit the behavior of this operator is calendar aligned, meaning the selected unit (minute, hour, day, quarter, etc ) determines how the start and end boundaries are calculated hour/day based units align to full calendar boundaries rather than a strict “from now” rolling window examples next 2 hours records from the next two fully upcoming calendar hours if the current time is 10 15 am — records from 11 00 am through 12 59 pm (the current hour in progress is excluded ) next 3 days records from the next three full calendar days if today is april 24, 2025 — records from april 25 through april 27, 2025 next 1 quarter records from the next full calendar quarter, through the last day of that quarter next 24 hours includes the next 24 completed hour boundaries for date fields, this may include the remainder of the current day and the next day, depending on calendar alignment current filters records within the current calendar unit in progress, based on the selected unit the selected unit (minute, hour, day, week, month, etc ) determines the calendar boundaries used for filtering examples current day all records from today (12 00 am through 11 59 pm) current week records from sunday to saturday of the current calendar week current month records from the 1st through the last day of the current calendar month use the appropriate combination of operator, unit, and field type to create dynamic and precise date and time filters previous and next return calendar aligned time windows based on the selected unit (for example, the previous two completed hours) for static comparisons (for example, "after 3 00 pm"), use comparative operators selection selection filters are indicated by the selection symbol and only apply to sections that allow date entries user/group user/group filters are indicated by the users symbol and only apply to sections that reference reference filters are indicated by the reference symbol
