Use this topic when you want Swimlane to review a **playbook**, **component**, or **AI Agent** you built and, if Swimlane approves it, make it available more broadly through [Swimlane Marketplace](https://turbine-marketplace.swimlane.com/en-US/home). This is separate from [Publish Playbooks](docId\:ydKkfw8QMkNmO6QAM06O0), which publishes packages to **User Content** on your tenant.

## Submit to Swimlane Compared to Publish

## Before You Start

- Save your work on the canvas. **Submit to Swimlane** can be unavailable while the playbook, component, or **AI Agent** has unsaved changes (for example, from the canvas **command menu** when that menu is used).
- The **Justification** field is required. Use the in-product hint under the field as your checklist (see [1. Submission Details](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#1-submission-details)).
- The **AI Agents** list appears under **ORCHESTRATION** when **Hero AI** is enabled for your tenant. If you do not see **AI Agents**, contact your administrator.

## Submit From the Playbooks List

1. From the navigation menu, click **ORCHESTRATION**, and then click **Playbooks**.
2. Find the playbook row.
3. Open the row **actions** menu (ellipsis).
4. Click **Submit to Swimlane**.
5. Complete the wizard in [Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#wizard-steps-submit-to-swimlane).

## Submit From the Playbook Canvas

1. Open the playbook in the editor so the canvas and playbook header are visible (the breadcrumb shows **Playbooks** and the playbook name).
2. In the header row next to the playbook title, open the **more actions** menu (vertical ellipsis **...**). The menu includes **Edit**, **Export**, **Publish**, and **Submit to Swimlane**.
3. Click **Submit to Swimlane**.
4. Complete the wizard in [Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#wizard-steps-submit-to-swimlane).

**Note:** You can also start **Submit to Swimlane** from the canvas **command menu** (**...**) when you work on the playbook or a flow on the canvas. That action is disabled until there are no unsaved changes. Then complete the wizard in [Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#wizard-steps-submit-to-swimlane).

## Submit a Component

Use the Components list or the component editor the same way as for playbooks. For step-by-step entry paths from **Components**, see [Submit to Swimlane](docId\:RSMpOIk8frAItN3N0Fi0k) or the **AI Agent** sections below.

## Submit an AI Agent

AI Agents are specialized components built with **Hero AI**. **Submit to Swimlane** uses the same wizard as for other components.

### From the AI Agents list

1. From the navigation menu, click **ORCHESTRATION**, and then click **AI Agents**.
2. Find the agent row.

### From the AI Agent editor

1. Open the AI Agent in the editor (for example, from **AI Agents** by opening the agent).
2. In the header row next to the agent title, open the **more actions** menu (vertical ellipsis **...**). The menu includes **Export**, **Publish**, and **Submit to Swimlane**.
3. Click **Submit to Swimlane**.
4. Complete the wizard in [Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#wizard-steps-submit-to-swimlane).

**Note:** You can also start **Submit to Swimlane** from the canvas **command menu** when the agent has no unsaved changes, then complete [Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)](https://docs.swimlane.com/submit-to-swimlane#wizard-steps-submit-to-swimlane).

## Wizard Steps (Submit to Swimlane)

The dialog title is **Submit to Swimlane**. Steps use the headings shown in the product.

### 1. Submission Details

The screen explains:

*This content will be submitted to Swimlane for review and, if approved, will be available for anyone to use via Swimlane Marketplace.*

1. Enter **Justification** (required). Under the field, the product shows hint text such as: *Summarize customer impact, the problem this solves, and why it belongs in Swimlane Marketplace for all customers. Reviewers use this for fit, quality, and prioritization.*
2. Click **Next**.

### 2. Package Content

1. Read **Select the entities you like to submit**.
2. Confirm the checklist of entities (playbooks, components, **AI Agents**, and related items). Each row shows a type label (for example, **PLAYBOOK** or labels used for components and agents).
3. Use **Deselect All** or **Select All**, or toggle individual rows, to match what you intend to include in the package.
4. Click **Next**.

### 3. Review Changes

This step appears when the wizard finds one or more potential issues (for example, validation or policy messages).

1. Read: *If there are potential issues, you can resolve these now or continue submitting.*
2. Expand each entity row to read its issues. For example, a **Canvas Playbook** that is turned off in Turbine may show that the playbook **has been disabled**—enable it or adjust your selection before submitting if your team requires a clean review.
3. Fix problems in Turbine and return to the wizard, or continue if your process allows submitting with known issues.
4. Click **Submit to Swimlane**.

While the request is sent, the dialog shows **Submitting to Swimlane...**

## What Happens After You Submit

### Successful submission

1. The dialog finishes loading and shows **Successfully submitted to Swimlane** (heading only on the confirmation screen).
2. Click **Close** (or **X Close** in the header) to dismiss the dialog.
3. A notification toast can appear with the message **Submitted to Swimlane** when the dialog closes from some entry points (for example, the **Playbooks**, **Components**, or **AI Agents** list).
4. Swimlane reviews the request outside of Turbine. If the content is approved, it can later appear for others in [Swimlane Marketplace](https://turbine-marketplace.swimlane.com/en-US/home). There is no fixed timeline in the product UI; follow your organization’s process or contact Swimlane if you need status on that issue.

**Note:** The confirmation screen does **not** show a ticket number, link, or other tracking identifier. If you need a reference for follow-up, use your internal change process or contact Swimlane support with the time of submission and the content name.

### Failed submission

1. The dialog shows **Submission Failed** and an error message with the reason (when the product provides one).
2. A notification toast can show **Submit to Swimlane failed** when the dialog closes from some entry points.
3. Fix the problem the message describes (for example, validation or server errors), then try **Submit to Swimlane** again. If the error is unclear, capture the message and contact your administrator or Swimlane support.

### What does not happen immediately

- **Submit to Swimlane** does not publish the package to your tenant’s **User Content** library. Use [Publish Playbooks](docId\:ydKkfw8QMkNmO6QAM06O0) or [Publish components](docId\:A0JWy9uMwt6sQIzIS0hbQ) when you need tenant-scoped library content.
- Marketplace listing is not instant; it depends on Swimlane’s review outcome.
