# Introduction

This guide tells you how to authenticate the **KnowBe4 PhishER** connector in Swimlane using HTTP Bearer Token authentication.

You will generate a PhishER API token, collect the required connection details, and configure the connector in Swimlane.

# Prerequisites

## KnowBe4 Access Requirements

You must have permissions to:

- Access the KnowBe4 PhishER platform
- Generate or manage API tokens
- Access PhishER settings and integrations
- Use the PhishER GraphQL API

# Required Credentials

During setup, you will collect:

- Product API Token
- Host URL

# KnowBe4 PhishER Setup

Take the following steps to generate an API Token:

1. Log in to the **KnowBe4 PhishER** portal.
2. Navigate to **Settings**.
3. Open the **API** or **Integrations** section.
4. Locate the **API Tokens** area.
5. Click **Generate API Token** or **Create Token**.
6. Enter a descriptive name for the token.
7. Assign the required permissions for API access.
8. Click **Create**.
9. Copy and securely save the generated API token.

The generated value will be used as the **Product API Token** in Swimlane.

# Connector configuration in Swimlane

1. Log in to Turbine.
2. From the left-hand navigation pane, click **ORCHESTRATION** and click **Assets**.
3. Asset homepage opens.
4. Click the plus icon to open the **Configure your Connector Asset** window.
5. Select **KnowBe4 PhishER** from the Asset type list.
6. Fill in the Asset Settings and Asset Input as shown:

Fields with \* marks are required.

7. Click **Create**.

# Troubleshooting

## Authentication Failed

Ensure:

- The API token is copied correctly
- The token has not expired or been revoked
- The correct KnowBe4 PhishER URL is being used

## Permission Errors

Ensure the API token has sufficient permissions to:

- Retrieve messages
- Update messages
- Add comments and tags
- Download EML files

### Result

You have successfully authenticated the **KnowBe4 PhishER Connector** in Swimlane.
