# Introduction

This guide explains how to authenticate the Absolute connector in Swimlane using token-based authentication. You will generate API credentials in the Absolute platform, collect the required identifiers, and configure the connector asset in Swimlane Turbine.

# Prerequisites

## Absolute Access Requirements

You must have administrative access to the Absolute console with permissions to:

- Access the Absolute API
- Generate API credentials
- Manage devices and device groups

## Required Credentials

During setup you will collect:

- Absolute API Base URL
- Token ID
- Token Secret

# Authentication Method Overview

The Absolute connector authenticates using a token-based authentication mechanism consisting of a Token ID and Token Secret.

# Absolute API Setup

Take the following steps to generate API credentials in Absolute:

1. Log in to the Absolute console with an administrator account.
2. Navigate to the API or Developer Settings section.
3. Create a new API integration or API credential.
4. Generate a Token ID and Token Secret.
5. Copy the Token ID and Token Secret.
6. Store the credentials securely for use in Swimlane.

# Connector Configuration in Swimlane

Take the following steps to configure the Absolute connector asset in Swimlane.

1. Log in to Turbine.
2. From the left-hand navigation pane click** ORCHESTRATION** and then** Assets**.
3. The Asset homepage opens.
4. Click the **plus i**con to open the **Configure your Connector Asset** window.
5. Select **Absolute **from the **Asset type** list.
6. Fill in the** Asset Settings **and **Asset Input **as shown below.

# Troubleshooting

If authentication fails:

- Ensure the Token ID and Token Secret are correct.
- Verify the API Base URL is correct.
- Confirm the API credentials are active.
- Check SSL verification settings if using internal certificates.
- Validate proxy configuration if network traffic is routed through a proxy.
