# Introduction 

This guide tells you how to authenticate the Abnormal Security connector in Swimlane using HTTP Bearer Authentication.

You will generate an authentication token in Abnormal Security and configure the connector in Swimlane.

# Prerequisites

## Abnormal Security Access Requirements

You must have access to an active Abnormal Security account with permission to generate and use API authentication tokens.

## Required Credentials

During setup, you will collect:

- Authentication Token
- API Endpoint URL

# Authentication Method Overview

The Abnormal Security connector uses HTTP Bearer Authentication to connect to the Abnormal Security API.
This method requires a valid authentication token to be included with each API request.

# Abnormal Security Setup

Take the following steps to obtain an authentication token from Abnormal Security:

1. Log in to the Abnormal Security platform.
2. Navigate to the API or integration settings.
3. Generate a new API authentication token.
4. Copy and securely store the token. This value will be used when configuring the Swimlane asset.

# Connector Configuration in Swimlane

Take the following steps to configure the Abnormal Security connector asset in Swimlane:

1. Log in to Turbine.
2. From the left-hand navigation pane, click **ORCHESTRATION **and click **Assets**.
3. Click the **plus** icon to create a new asset.
4. Select **Abnormal Security** from the **Asset Type** list.
5. Fill in the Asset Settings and Asset Input fields as per the following:

# Troubleshooting

If authentication fails:

- Ensure the authentication token is valid and has not expired.
- Verify the API endpoint URL is correct.
- Confirm SSL verification settings match your environment.
- Check proxy configuration if requests are routed through a proxy.
